From August 24th.
This past week has been so much better! I love Heavenly Father can I just say that!! He helped me find out all/or most of the answers to things I was struggling with and then of course right after the answers come He doesn't want me to get too comfortable so he sends me some more challenges. Well this week I got a big one! On Friday the Branch Presidency called me in for an interview which happens all the time here but this time the interview was scheduled to call me as the New Coordinating Sister for our Branch, which is equivalent to RS president here in the MTC. When they told me this I literally laughed out loud. But of course Heavenly Father knows so much more than us. THis calling has humbled me so much. 10 things I love about my companion Sister Loss are:
1. She makes me laugh with her silly sense of humor.
2. She truly loves and cares about everyones feelings.
3. She is patient and lets Elder Ewell talk her ear off (he is some elder.. my goodness lets just say patiene is required with him)
4. She works hard and never gives up
5. She has a strong and wonderful testimony
6. She knows exactly what she wants and needs.
7. She has really good self control
8. She never complains about me or what I do
9. She is quick and witty
10. She takes time to talk to people and never lets time get in teh way of what she needs to do.
One of our teachers Brother Daniel Wahlgren from Colorado gave a lesson to us about being happy and staing away from things that chase the spirit away, he said he is a neat perfectionist and he often gets upset with his roommates. But then he realized tha tthey aren't perfectionists and they found him annoying for how he is- SLAP IN THE FACE FOR ME DUH!! D'laney!! I have always viewed being organized and neat was 100% blessing but in reality it is a challenge becasue you have to learn to not expect everyone to be like you. I believe that is called Humility :) Only took me 21 years to learn that.

From August 17th.
Another week down! 6 more to go! Oh my goodness... that is a scary/sad thought. I still have to tell myself everyday "I am a missionary, I am going to Bulgaria!" For some reason it hasnt sunk in yet, hopefully some day it will. Let's see I guess I will start backwards with yesterday. Monday- I was kind of in a cranky mood but all day I was working on it so it ended up being like a little rollercoaster ride of emotions for me. (Can you say bi polar:)
Sundays are good days because it is so much more relaxed and we get to spend a few hours on the temple grounds and talk to missionaries outside our district. Our Sunday fireside was of 3 different composers and they got to describe the hymns that they wrote. It was pretty cool! The MTC is under a lot of construction so we have to meet in different rooms around the campus instead of the gym as a whole. I think they will be done in Sept. They are also redoing the MTC sign in the front so I haven't gotten the famous missionary picture in front of it.
I just returned from the temple. I LOVE BEING ABLE TO GO EACH WEEK! Today was another good visit.
Bulgarian I have learned is a #8 in difficulty on a scale of 1-10 English is a 9. I stink at both :) I know for a fact that I will not be able to get this language by myself. Forming a sentence takes about 10 minutes because you have to do this long gammactical equation in your head before talking... no good.
I am happy and pleased to report that I am progressing from horrible to decently bad. My teachers are kind and very patient. Its weird to think they are only a ear older than me because I always feel like a 5 year old around tehm. Oh well that the life of a missionary! Okay so mom gave me permission to share a little about the craziness of Bulgaria.
1. We had to learn "don't touch me" in Bulgarian for all the old men there and the gypsies.
2. THe water there is radiactive and if you drink it you grow hair on your cheeks and large moles.
3. Its common to see 5 year olds drinking and smoking.
4. we were warned that on our first day there we will feel like we are in Moulin Rouge or a circus.
5. week grows along the sidewalks for anyone to harvest and smoke.
We are all really excited to go! :).

First things first, I MADE IT!! That Wednesday was the longest, stressful and tiresome day in my life. I felt very blessed that I was able to keep calm through all the flight problems. This place is AMAZING!!! You meet the nicest purest people in the world here. I love being able to feel the spirit so strongly everyday. My district is wonderful. We have gotten along so well! There are 11 of us and only 2 sisters (me and my comp) We have fun together and try not to goof off too much. But after a full day of cramming down all the Bulgarian grammar rules and words we have learned its hard to stay focused, so I appreciate the elder's sense of humor at times. We have learned so much about our mission and I am getting more and more excited to get to Bulgaria as the days go on. I think I will have to spare most of the details for mom's sake but I will just say it sounds exciting. For example the Mafia practically rules the country and since they love the missionaries we have them on our side. We just cant take pictures of their cars :) I guess they stole 30 billion dollars from the European Union and got away with it. Also there are a ton of gypses and the love Americans and love to steal our stuff. They taught us some important words for that situation. The Bulgarian is coming very very very very very slowly. I definitely will not be able to do this alone so I pray for the gift of tongues each night, morning, meal, class shift, and second. It's tough stuff but I feel like there is hope for me! :) My teachers are really great, They are all really young so they just recently came back from their mission. One of my teachers, Brother Mattinson is from Spokane. This morning I was able to go ot the temple for the first time! It was such a neat experience and I am glad to say I am feeling more comfortable and learning more and more each time I go. Last week when we were in LA signing our visas we stopped by the LA temple and sat in the waiting room. That is an AMAZING TEMPLE! I will have to share more experiences from that day later because it was awesome and very spiritual! One of the wives in our branch presidency, Sister Gale has been an angel sent from heaven to me! She comes by our rooms each thursday night and just sits on the couches and waits for sisters that need someone to talk to. Last thursday I was writing in my journal and saying my nightly prayer when I remembered what day it was and I hurried out the door to see her. She welcomed me with a huge hug. The kind that can last as long as you need it to and smiled and asked how I was. For someone that I had just met I felt instantly safe with her and poured out all my concerns. My comp, Sister Loss is also an angel to me. She has been struggling with hormone imbalance and had tons of doctors appointments here each day which leaves me waiting in the waiting room for hours. This has gotten better and they are now allowing me to go back to class with the elders but at first it made me frustrated and anxious about missing so much class time. Sister Gale answered all my concerns and has been there for Sister Loss a ton which takes alot of pressure off me, which I appreciate and needed. Well I want to leave some time to read your emails. THANK YOU SO MUCH FOR YOUR LETTERS AND PACKAGES!!! I love you all! This church is true and I am so grateful for this opportunity to be on the mission.
p.s. I definitely didnt know what to expect while I was packing. HAHA I will be sending a box of stuff I dont need hopefully it will remain safe until i return. I misght need a few things but i will write it in my letter.
